This Saturday, October 19th, my daughter Kennedy and I had the pleasure of joining AZ Can-Am on their Four Peaks & Saguaro Lake Ride. Admittedly, as I was loading up our Can-Am X3 Max in the rain and driving out to the staging area, I was a little concerned that no one would show up. However, we were pleasantly surprised by the respectable turnout of at least 15 UTVs.

One of the things I treasure most about these rides is the memories of taking my kids along when they were younger, so it was nice to see other parents bringing their children on this trip as well. I even let one of the young girls fly my drone during our first break, though I was a bit nervous when she came close to the trees a few times!

Fortunately, the weather cleared up, and the earlier rain kept the dust down—at least during the ride up to the top of Four Peaks. It was a little chilly at the summit, but according to George Jimenez, it was much nicer than the day before when he pre-ran the ride.

One standout aspect of this trip was the steady pace, around 30 miles per hour, and the lack of any mechanical breakdowns. It was great to ride with experienced riders who maintained their machines well! Unfortunately, Kennedy and I weren’t able to finish the entire ride because at the last stop, I realized my phone had fallen out of my pocket and had gotten stuck somewhere in the Can-Am, out of reach.

Nonetheless, my daughter and I had a wonderful time, and we’d like to thank our host Erin Tisland and ride leader George Jimenez for a fantastic trip!

P.S. On the way home, we stopped at Greulich’s in Fountain Hills, where Matt Burns and another technician were kind enough to help me retrieve my phone from its hiding place.
